One of the best ways to increase your confidence

Leading the way to singing opportunities, either professionally or as a hobby

Leading the way to singing opportunities, either professionally or as a hobby. Our teachers are here to help you whether you are a complete beginner or are looking to improve on your current vocal skills. Many people think that singing ability is something you either have or you don’t- but nothing could be further from the truth. We have had many students through the years who have come to us with perhaps less ‘natural’ vocal ability, but with tremendous drive, discipline, and work ethic, who now have professional careers. Singing is a much more complex art than it first appears. It is near impossible to learn proficiently when just singing along to songs or looking at online resources. Private singing lessons will give you total attention from your vocal coach, in order for you to improve your voice quickly and effectively. Your voice teacher will also be able to see any weak points that a trainer of a choir or group class may not notice. This way, you will avoid developing bad habits that might impede your progress.

In your voice lessons, you will learn how to warm up, extend your range and strengthen you vocal cords just like professional singers. You will work on specific songs in order to perfect your singing, and most students will hear improvement in just a couple weeks.

Classes & Teachers

  • Piano

We offer a number of different piano teaching methods and styles including traditional sight reading, playing without learning to read music, chord-based methods, improvisation, songwriting & theory.

  • Guitar

Guitar is not a difficult instrument to learn if you have a good teacher. In fact, it can be a blast! We are patient with all our beginners and we welcome students that have never even picked up a guitar before!

  • Singing

Your voice teacher will also be able to see any weak points that a trainer of a choir or group class may not notice. This way, you will avoid developing bad habits that might impede your progress.

  • Songwriting

Exploring how to take musical ideas and turning them into full songs with songwriting lessons is a rewarding pursuit! To bring your songs to life, you need to find a music school with professional instructors and quality programs.

  • Jane Brody

A professional, critically acclaimed recording artist/singer-songwriter and teacher from Maryland and later New York City. Ms. Brody has been teaching since 1988.

  • Lorrie Harris

Singing since the age of 5. She has developed Award Winning Talent in the Bay area and has been teaching for 20 years. Her smooth but powerful Vocal Style includes R&B, Rock, Pop and everything in between.

  • Linda Henning

Teaching for over 25 years, her unique teaching style incorporates her specialized degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development with an emphasis in the Childhood Years.

  • Vince Mellone

Vince Mellone has been playing guitar for 20 years, inspired to pick up the instrument after hearing The Beatles at age 14. He studied electric guitar with Joe Livoti and then classical guitar with Richard Savino while attending Sacramento State University.

We work with all levels of ability from beginning to advanced levels.

Whether you are a young singer, a professional, or just have a “bucket list”, San Ramon School of Music vocal training and songwriting lessons will make your dreams come true! We also specialize in keeping the professional singer’s voice healthy and strong, without changing their unique sound and style! At San Ramon School of Music, we can teach anyone to sing, if they are willing to practice. Many people think that singing ability is something you either have or you don’t- but nothing could be further from the truth. We have had many students through the years who have come to us with perhaps less ‘natural’ vocal ability, but with tremendous drive, discipline, and work ethic, who now have professional careers

Unique Skills Applied

Everyone has a unique set of skills, talents, and time to devote to learning an instrument or piece of music. The more you practice, the faster your advancement will be.

Specific Music Goals

It will take your teacher at least a few weeks to examine your progress enough to be able to guide your instruction to achieve your specific musical goals.

Students Musical Passions

Because each person has a different image of himself as a guitar player, it is important to work with an instructor who shares the musical passions of the student.
